Send Grandma back in time with a framed copy of the newspaper from the day or year she was born. If she was born in a different city or country, try to find one from that place. If you can't find anything, you could always use a word processing program to create your own newspaper. Research events of the year as well as advertisements and news of the era.

Let Grandma capture her special moments on a digital camera, everything from grandchildren to friends and events. Even if she isn't technically inclined, most photo development stores have an easy way to get photos off of the camera. Digital cameras come in small sizes that are easy to slip into a pocket or purse, and a camera case will help protect it from damage.

Grandma can have fun playing games with family and friends.
Give Grandma a gift that will bring hours of fun with friends and family. A classic game, like a six-in-one game set with checkers, chess and backgammon. Grandchildren can get into the spirit of things by giving her games they enjoy playing. If she enjoys card games, get her a personalized set of playing cards, such as one with family photos on the back. For a change of pace, get her a book on card games so she can try something new.
Journal
Grandma's journal might be much more exciting than you ever imagined.
Just because Grandma is in the later stages of life, doesn't mean she has nothing to say or write about. Although life may not be as adventurous as in her younger years, she can write down her thoughts and ideas. A journal can be given to the next generation, and all of her wisdom and experience can be passed on to them.
