Transferring contacts from a BlackBerry to another device is a simple process thanks to the phone's Bluetooth capabilities. With Bluetooth enabled, the BlackBerry can communicate wirelessly between another Bluetooth-enabled device, such as another smart phone. Any BlackBerry can perform a simple wireless contact transfer because every BlackBerry has Bluetooth capabilities.
Instructions
Pair the Devices
1. Click "Options" on the main menu of the Blackberry.
2. Scroll to "Bluetooth" and click it to open the Bluetooth menu.
3. Enable Bluetooth by pressing the menu button and clicking "Enable Bluetooth." After your phone enables Bluetooth, it'll display a list of other devices it's paired with.
4. Pair the device by clicking "* Empty *" and then clicking "Add Device." Select the BlackBerry phone that you'd like to transfer contacts to.
5. Enter the pass key associated with the Bluetooth-enabled device. Bluetooth pass keys are specific to each device, so refer to the device's user manual for the pass key. This will bring you back to the Bluetooth menu after you've paired the devices.
Transfer Contacts
6. Scroll to the device you just paired with your BlackBerry and press the menu button.
7. Click "Options" and click "Contact Transfer." This will bring up a menu for contact transfer options: "Disabled" to disable contact transferring, "All entries" to transfer all contacts, "Hotlist" to select specific contacts and "Categories" to transfer categories of contacts.
8. Press the menu key of the option that suits your purposes and click "Save" to complete the transfer. If you click "Hotlist" or "Categories," you'll be prompted to select categories or specific contacts to transfer.
