Kodak Easyshare Cx6230 Instructions

The Kodak EasyShare CX6230 is a two megapixel digital camera released in 2003. The CX6230 features 3x optical zoom plus 3.3x digital zoom, giving photographers up to 10x zoom, a 1.5 inch LCD screen and 16 MB of internal memory. Users can also add a memory card for additional storage. The CX6230 was designed to be an easy transition for photographers who had not yet switched to the digital photograph format.

Turning the Camera On and Off

On top of the CX6230 is a mode dial that controls the camera's shooting mode and doubles as a power switch. To turn the camera on, rotate the dial to the left for "Picture" mode or to the right for "Movie" mode. The indicator light on the back of the camera will blink when first turning on the camera as it performs a self-check. When the light stops blinking the camera is ready for use. To turn off the camera, rotate the dial back to "Off."

Taking Still Pictures

Turn the mode dial to the left to enter "Picture" mode. Point the camera at the subject and use the view screen to frame the picture. You can adjust the zoom by pressing the "Zoom" switch on the back of the camera, on the upper-right side. When you are happy with the framing of the picture, press the shutter button halfway. When you press the shutter button, the camera will automatically set the focus and the exposure, according to the amount of light taken in by the lens. The "Ready" light above the view screen will glow green when the camera is ready to take the picture. Press the shutter button fully to take the picture.

After the picture is taken, the "Ready" light will blink green as the image is saved to the memory card. You can continue to take pictures while the light is blinking green. If the light turns red, however, you must wait for the camera to save the image and the light to turn green again before taking the next picture.

Reviewing Images

You can review all of the pictures stored on your memory card. To review your images, press the "Review" button, located on the back of the camera next to the lower right corner of the view screen. You will see on the view screen the last picture you took. To scroll through your pictures, press the right and left arrows. You can scroll quickly through your images by pressing and holding the left or right arrow buttons.
