Use The Vupoint Mini Digital Camera

You can use your VuPoint mini digital camera to take pictures and as a webcam. These little cameras do not cost much and are perfect to carry around for fun so that your more expensive camera doesn't get damaged or stolen. It is also the perfect camera for older children and as a toy for summer vacation. Children can build memories and you get a chance to see the world through their eyes in 300-kilopixel resolution.

Instructions

1. Insert and charge the battery according to the diagram on the inside of the battery compartment. The red LED will be on while the camera is charging but will switch to the green one when charging is finished. The user manual suggests that the battery takes three hours to charge but that it should charge for at least four hours for the first time. If the camera is out of use for a half minute, it will enter energy-saver mode.

2. Install the software in your computer that comes with the camera. If the software is missing, see the link in the Resources section below. If the disk does not run automatically when you insert it into the CD drive, Select the start menu, run, and type the drive letter ("E:/" for example) followed by colon and a slash, then "autorun.exe" (E:/autorun.exe). Follow the instructions that appear on the screen.

3. Turn on the camera by pushing the "Function" button. Unfold the screen from the side of the camera. Find the image that you desire to take a picture of on the screen. In models without a screen, use the viewfinder, which is the lens or hole that you look through to aim the camera. To take a picture, hold the camera steady and press on the button that takes pictures (the shutter button). If you hear a beep, wait a moment to allow the camera to recover and then press the button. If the camera is beeping several times in a row, it is indicating that the camera is at full capacity. Some cameras (those that display a count of photos still available) will display double zero on the screen to let you know when there are no more photos left.

4. Use the USB cable to connect the camera to the computer when it is time to upload the photos to the computer. The camera will beep once to let you know that the camera recognizes that the USB cable is hooked up to the computer. Double click on the photo software that came with the computer and use it to initiate the upload process. You may have to use the software to select "Camera/scanner" and select your camera as the source before uploading the images. The camera does not necessarily need batteries if the USB cable supplies enough power for your model.

5. To select options for the modes that this camera has, press the function button and then press up or down on the ring around the function button to select the desired function. Then press the shutter button for five seconds to select the option. One of the options is used to turn off the camera when you are done. Also available are continuous shoot mode (Ct) which allows the camera to take a series of photos, self-timer mode (St) which takes photos every 10 seconds, three-photo continuous shoot mode, delete all photos (CL), and delete last photo. Other modes may exist, depending on the camera that you are using. To stop the action, either stop pressing the shutter button or press it again. Compression modes can also be selected by choosing "Hr" for high resolution and "Lr" for low resolution.

6. To use the camera as a web cam, upload and then delete all photos from the memory. Plug in the USB cable and Open up the software that came with the device. Click "video camera" followed by "capture images from video camera."
