Avaya G650 Installation

The Avaya G650 Media Gateway system is a rackmount IP phone station. The system has analog, digital and ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) as well as IP (Internet Protocol) telephony capabilities. The unit can be combined with up to four other G650 systems in a single network rack configuration, to expand the functional capacity of the overall system. The process of installing the Avaya G650 is fairly simple.

Instructions

1. Screw the two mounting brackets to the sides near the back of the G650 unit using the four predrilled holes on each side.

2. Screw the mounting brackets into the rackmount rail on each side of the G650 unit to secure the unit to the rackmount assembly.

3. Unscrew the two screws on the front cover of the unit to reveal the ringer switch module port.

4. Slide the ringer switch module into the module port, aligning the metal contacts on the module with the metal contact inside the module port. Then push the module inwards until it snaps into place.

5. Slide the circuit pack(s) into the circuit pack port(s) in the center area of the G650 unit, aligning the metal contacts on the pack(s) with the metal contact inside the port. Then push inward until the pack snaps into place.

6. Close the front cover on the unit, and then replace and tighten the two screws.

7. Plug the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port in the back of the G650 unit, and then plug the other end of the cable into the Ethernet (or equivalent) port in the main system computer.

8. Plug the Power cable into the Power port in the back of the G650 unit, and then plug the other end of the cable into the power outlet.
