Upload Your Pictures From Your Camera Without A Camera Cord

Upload pictures using the memory card slot on your computer.

If you can't find your digital camera's USB cord, you can still download pictures from your camera to your computer. Use a memory card reader or the memory card slot on your computer to transfer photos so you're no longer restricted to reviewing small thumbnails of your images on the camera's LCD screen. From your computer, you can share photos on social networking websites, send them in email, or alter them using photo-editing software.

Instructions

1. Turn your camera's power switch to "Off." Slide the memory card door open and push the "Eject" button, or gently push the card in to eject the card. Close the memory card door.

2. Insert the metal edge of the memory card -- or the side with tiny holes -- into the appropriate slot on the card reader or computer. Look at the reader or computer for an icon dictating insert the card -- label-side facing up or down.

3. Watch the computer monitor for a pop-up message box indicating the computer auto-recognized the memory card. If it's not recognized, click on your computer's hard drive icon and search for the memory card.

4. Click on the memory card icon and press "Ctrl" and "A" to select all images. Right-click and choose "Copy." Locate the destination folder for the photos, then right-click and choose "Paste."
