Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) provide television watchers with a lot of great advancements and flexibility when it comes to their show watching, but occasionally there is a problem that can become annoying for viewers. Sometimes, especially with live shows, the program can run overtime, but your DVR does not know this and the end of an episode gets cut off. DIRECTV’s DVR service offers an easy solution to help fix this problem.
Instructions
1. Turn on your DIRECTV Plus DVR receiver box.
2. Press the guide button on the DIRECTV Plus DVR remote control, located near the middle left side of the remote. On your screen, the TV listings will appear.
3. Find the listing for the show that you would like to record in the future.
4. Do a manual search within the menu if you cannot find the show that you are looking for.
5. Highlight the show you wish to record with the arrows and then press the large yellow button that says “Select.” A new screen will pop up with information on the show and options to choose from on the left.
6. Look for the option that is labeled “Record." Highlight that option and press the select button on your remote control. Another screen will pop up with your recording options. The first option asks you how long you want to keep the recording and the other two ask about the start and stop times of the recording.
7. Press the left arrow on your remote and then press the down arrow twice. The "Stop" option should now be highlighted.
8. Press the select button on your remote control. You will now see a list of options to choose from ranging from 1 minute up to 1 hour after the show has ended. A good time to choose is 5 to 10 minutes after the show has ended because not too many shows will go past this time.
9. Press the right arrow on the remote to highlight the option that says “Record.”
10. Press "Select" once again and your show is ready to record with the extra amount of time that was indicated.
