Take Flash Pictures With A Nikon Cls

The Nikon CLS is a wireless flash that works with new digital single lens reflex (SLR) Nikon cameras and the Nikon F6 35 mm film camera. Unlike a mounted flash, the Nikon CLS is not physically attached to the camera. Instead it communicates with your camera wirelessly. This means you can place the Nikon CLS anywhere around your photo subject, and when you take a picture, the flash will be triggered to increase the amount of light from that angle.

Instructions

1. Turn on your CLS Nikon flash.

2. Hold the "Zoom" and "Minus" buttons at the same time in order to enter the "Custom Setting Menu" for the flash. Press the "Minus" button to turn the flash off. Press the "Mode" button once to turn the remote flash on. Hold the "Zoom" and "Minus" buttons again to exit the "Custom Setting Menu."

3. Remove the flash from your camera and look at the back of it. Write down the number above the "CH" and the letter above the word "Group."

4. Turn on your compatible Nikon camera and open the popup flash.

5. Open your camera's menu and select ""Bracketing/Flash." Select "Flash Control for Built-in Flash," and then select "Commander Mode."

6. Select "Off" for the built-in flash. Select "0" for the Group A and Group B options. Enter your "CH" number and "Group" letter into the menu. Click "OK" and save your changes.

7. Take a picture with your camera, and the CLS flash will go off at the same time.
