Get Ice Off A Directv Dish

When living in the colder climates of the north (or the south, if you happen to live in Australia), every snowfall can lead to ice buildup on your satellite dish. This can lead to signal interruption and, if left untreated for an extended amount of time, damage to the satellite dish itself. Removing ice from a satellite dish can be tricky, but there is a home remedy that is guaranteed to work.

Instructions

1. Fill a small spray bottle with the windshield washer fluid. Pour slowly to minimize the number of bubbles in the fluid, as these can get into the spray tube and prevent the spray bottle from dispensing the fluid.

2. Spray a generous amount of windshield washer fluid on the satellite dish, being mindful of any sensitive electronics that may be exposed.

3. Allow the first layer of washer fluid to soak into the ice, dissolving the ice and making it easier to remove.

4. Squirt a second layer of windshield washer fluid on the icy spots on the satellite dish.

5. Wipe off the ice with an old rag. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 until the ice is removed completely from the satellite dish.
