Watch Your Dvr On Your Iphone

The iPhone is a multi-media smart phone device developed by Apple. In addition to making telephone calls, the iPhone functions as an MP3 music player, Web browser, video game and movie player. It also contains many functions known as "apps," which are available for purchase in the Apple App Store. One of the apps available is called the "SlingPlayer Mobile," which allows you to access your home DVR and watch programming wherever you are on your iPhone when used in conjunction with a device called the "Slingbox."

Instructions

1. Connect the Slingbox to your DVR and Internet. Using either the three-prong RCA cable -- yellow, white and red -- or the three-prong component cable -- blue, green and orange -- connect from the "Out" port of the DVR to the "In" port of the Slingbox. Connect a standard network wire, which looks like the larger version of a telephone wire, from your Internet router to the back of the Slingbox. You'll know that it was done properly once there are two green lights illuminated on the front of Slingbox.

2. Install the Slingbox software onto your home computer. Ensuring that your computer is connected to the same network as the Slingbox, insert the software disc and follow the installation wizard. When the installation process is complete, you can set up a personalized Slingbox account.

3. Install the SlingPlayer Mobile app on your iPhone. Log on to the App Store, search for "SlingPlayer Mobile" and purchase the app. Once downloaded, enter the information for the account that you set up to sync your iPhone to the Slingbox that is connected to your DVR.

4. Use your iPhone to watch recorded content on your DVR. In addition to watching recorded content, you can also set up to record new content, and access live television, pausing and rewinding when you want.
