Record A Mini Dvd To A Dvd

Many record labels released single music videos on mini DVD.

Mini DVDs debuted as a format for record labels to release single band videos to their fans. The format struggled to catch on before fading away. During its lifetime, nearly an entire generation of digital video cameras used mini DVDs for film storage. The 8 cm discs could hold anywhere between 1.4 and 5.2 gigabytes of information. While many DVD players can play mini DVDs, there are a nearly equal number that cannot. Since full-size DVD players are far more common, it makes sense to record your mini DVDs to regular DVDs, if you have the opportunity to do so.

Instructions

1. Connect the mini DVD-capable player to the DVD recorder by plugging a component or HDMI cable into the output jacks on the mini DVD player and into the input jacks on the DVD recorder.

2. Connect the DVD recorder to the TV by running a component or HDMI cable from the DVD recorder's output jacks to the TV's DVD or AUX input jacks. Turn the power on to the player, recorder and TV. Tune the TV to the input associated with the jacks used to connect to the DVD recorder to verify that the signal from the mini DVD is passing through the DVD player and to the TV.

3. Place the mini DVD in the mini DVD-capable player. Play the mini DVD until you reach the point where you wish the DVD recording to begin. Press "Pause" on the mini DVD player.

4. Place a blank DVD-R or DVD-RW in the disc tray of the DVD recorder. Close the tray. Press "Record" on the DVD recorder and then un-pause the mini DVD player in rapid succession.

5. Press "Stop" on the DVD recorded when the mini DVD has completed playback of the video content you wish to record onto the DVD. Play the recorded DVD back for a moment to ensure the recording worked.

6. Perform the DVD finalization procedure specific to your DVD recorder to finalize the disc; this varies by brand and model, so consult your DVD recorder's specific operation manual if you're unsure of perform this process.

7. Remove the finalized DVD-R or DVD-RW from the DVD recorder. Remove the mini DVD from the mini DVD player. Turn off the power to all three devices.
