Install Film Into Polaroid Land Cameras

The bulb won't fire in your Polaroid land camera if it contains an empty film pack or if it's installed incorrectly. Since the camera is collapsible, it can be damaged if the film is forcibly installed. Use a film installation strategy that works, so you don't miss a shot or waste valuable film ever again.

Instructions

1. Turn the camera around so that the flash is facing you.

2. Hold the camera securely by its sides near the middle. Be careful not to cover the area where the film door hinge is located.

3. Push down on the yellow bar on the left side of the camera, as it is still facing you. Allow the film door on the bottom of the camera to open freely.

4. Pull out the yellow tab on the empty film pack to remove it if one is installed.

5. Pick up the new film pack by its side edges. Take care not to touch its top or bottom areas or the yellow tab area.

6. Insert the film pack into the camera with the opposite end of the yellow tab first. Note that the yellow tab should be nearest to you and visible when the film is completely inserted. The film's thin strip on the end of the film should snap open when it is correctly inserted into the camera.

7. Flip the film door back in place and the film cover should immediately eject from the camera. If it doesn't, repeat these steps to correctly reinstall the film pack.
