SD cards are the most common portable storage devices for cell phones and digital cameras. Small in stature with monumental purpose, SD memory cards can house anywhere from 32 MB to more than 4 GB worth of documents, software and/or other files. Copying files to SD cards is also easy because the process only requires the use of a SD card reader. Once the SD card and reader are properly connected, transferring files from the computer to the card is a breeze.
Instructions
1. Place the SD card into the card reader's slot.
2. Slide the card reader into the computer's SD/MMC PCMCIA port.
3. Click "My Computer" on the computer desktop to view its local and removable disk drives.
4. Access the "C:" drive under "Local Disk" to view the computer's documents and files.
5. Locate and access the folder for the files you'd like to copy from the computer to the SD card.
6. Hold down the Control (CTRL) key on the keyboard, and click each file you'd like to prepare to take from the folder.
7. Press the "C" key on the keyboard once you've selected all the files you need to copy. This action will create a virtual duplicate of the selected files so they can be added to the SD card.
8. Go back to the "My Computer" window.
9. Double-click the SD card's removable storage icon under the "Removable Disk" section of the Explorer window. Then, access the sub-folder where you'd like to copy the files.
10. Press the CTRL and "C" keys simultaneously to place the duplicated computer files into the SD card's memory.
